A Big "Thank You" to all who made the Autumn Shindig a Success!

The Autumn Shindig in the Pavilion on Oct. 30 was a foot-stomping good time! There have been so many thank yous from residents and associates for the efforts that went into making this event possible. Everyone seemed to like the food, music, decorations, pumpkin contest, prizes and K.C. Wolf. It was a wonderful opportunity to get our community (residents and associates) together and take time to have some fun!
I want to say thank you to the executive staff for funding and encouraging these events. Their commitment to events such as these help make our community strong by bringing us all together as one group, with one focus to build relationships and strengthen our community.
The biggest thank you goes to the committee members from many different departments in the Village who make this all happen by starting the planning many months in advance and being there that day when it is SHOW TIME. They take the time out of their already busy schedules to ensure the event goes off without a hitch and that everyone there has a good time. There are numerous little details that go into making this big event a success and without the contributions of every one on the committee, it would be very hard to pull these large events off. I want to say a very sincere thank you to the committee who made this happen on behalf of all those who attended that day: Donald Lewis (chaired the committee); Agi Bako-Lafave, Resident Life and Dining and Events; Andrea Villalobos, Salon Services; Cindy Huckabay, Resident Life; Cindy Wieczorek, Resident Life; Dan Hall, Dining and Events; Melanie Heydon, Village Assisted Living; Michele Rusinko, Village Hospice; Micki Bray, Village Home Health, Kansas office; Nita Hagerman, Village Care Center; Lori Qualls, Human Resources; Richard Leslie, Pavilion; Stephanie Zeilstra, communications and marketing; and Barbara Midrios, housekeeping.
Last, but not least, thank you to all the additional residents and associates who pitched in to make the Autumn Shindig a success by helping to decorate, cleanup, set up and other miscellaneous tasks that day. We ABSOLUTELY know we couldn’t have done it without you. And, besides, it was a lot of fun working with you that day. What a great community we live and work in!

Thank you again.
Kelli Snell, director of resident life
