The Torch Continues Its Journey through the Village

We're catching you up on where the torch that is part of the Light the Torch With Pride event has been lately!

The Hobby Hut gang passed the torch off to  resident June Dewsberry. June has been a long-time advocate of the Village. She has served in past leadership positions with the Ambassadors of the Foundation as well as the John Knox Village Auxiliary. She also has served on the Resident Council in many capacities including president, vice president and various committee and district chairmanships. Her other Village involvements include the JKV Retired Nurses, the Village music groups and many other Village organizations. June has PRIDE in the Village community and we have great deal of PRIDE in the contributions she has made!

June Dewsberry then passed the torch to JKV resident Marjorie Stowell. June said that Marjorie does so much for the Village but is so quiet and modest about it that no one knows how many different ways she serves. Marjorie has been heavily involved in the Resident Council, holding a variety of leadership positions. She also has served on a variety of other Village committees, including the Village summer event committee, helping to recruit volunteers. Marjorie is always an advocate for the Village and a treasure to be around!

Margie Stowell decided to pass the torch to the Village Quilters. Margie said she passed the torch to the Quilters because Helen Harms is a terrific leader of the group and the quilters are a talented group who spend many hours "behind the scenes" making the beautiful quilts. The monies earned by the Quilters is donated to the JKV Auxiliary.
Pictured above is Margie handing the torch to Helen. Seated are quilters Judy Pearce, Kathy Maret and John Welch.
