Here's How you Can support the Alzheimer's Association!



Participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s Event!
Many of us are touched by Alzheimer’s disease and many are caregivers for those who are affected. Alzheimer’s disease affects more than five million Americans and is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States.
That’s why John Knox Village wants you to join the team as we support those affected and participate in this great Alzheimer’s Association sponsored event. The Village’s fundraising goal is $2,500. The event will be held on Sunday, Oct. 2 at Corporate Woods in Overland Park, Kansas. Registration begins at 8 a.m., a ceremony at 9 a.m. and the Walk begins at 9:30 a.m. The Village will provide bus transportation to the event. Seating is limited. Please call the Courtyard Commons concierge at 347-2405 to reserve a seat.
Here’s a few ways you can get involve!
-     - Stop by the Bake Sales! They will be held at 9 a.m. each Friday in September  at the Village Care Center employee hallway. Grab some yummy treats and help us meet our goal! If you our your neighborhood would like to donate baked goods, just drop them off at the VCC front desk, attention Teresa Tanon.

-    - Get a Purple Streak! Show Your Support with a Streak 
v     Available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29 and Friday, Sept. 30. See a stylist at the Village Salon, Courtyard Salon and the Village Care Center small meeting room. No appointment needed. Have the purple streak put in your hair for a $5 donation.The streak is washable!

-          -  Join the Walk team by signing up at www.alz.org.  Click on Find A Walk , enter zip code of 64081, select Overland Park, Kansas, click join a team, and search for the John Knox Village team and then join! You do not have to register to join us on the day of the event.
