Auxiliary Thrift Shop to resume Monday hours

The Auxiliary Thrift Shop has been closed on Mondays the past several weeks to catch up on inventory and get reorganized. They are ready to be open again!
Starting Monday, Feb. 8, they will be open again on Mondays. The hours are 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Mouth Health

Mouth health and overall health are connected in many ways. Join Kaitlin Markowski, wellness associate, as she discusses ways to keep your mouth healthy, and how some diseases can affect mouths and ways to protect mouth health. There will be give-aways and a drawing.

Updated Transportation Packet Now Available

The Transportation Packet was recently updated with minor changes. Copies are available at Area Manager offices and you can also find it on Village Voice Online, under the Resident Life tab, and then under Transportation.

Golfing in January? Some Residents Say "You bet!"

Several residents with the Men's Golf League took advantage of the above 50 degree weather on Thursday, Jan. 14 to enjoy a round of golf. These hearty players decided any time it was above 50 degrees this winter, they would get out and get a few swings in!

Residents are invited to attend a celebration of the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. sponsored by the city of Lee’s Summit.

5:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 18, The Pavilion

The keynote speaker will be MCC-Longview President Kirk A. Nooks, Ed.D. The theme is Living Bridge of Peace. There will be presentations and performances by the International Studies team at Summit Technology Academy, Lee’s Summit North High School Air Force Jr. ROTC, Pillars of Truth Ministries Choir, Creative Movement Dancers, Lee’s Summit High School Jazz Band and guitarist Dante Woods.

Sunday's Silver Alert Did Not Involve a JKV Resident

You may have seen on the news this morning a silver alert was issued for an 89-year-old woman who lived off Murray Road. This woman was not a John Knox Village resident; rather, she lived  at the Heritage Park Retirement Apartments, which are located across Murray Road from the Administrative Center.

Members of the John Knox Village Public Safety team assisted the Lee's Summit Police Department during the search. Unfortunately, the situation turned tragic when her body was discovered shortly after the Silver Alert was issued. She was not found on the John Knox Village campus.
