Participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s Event!
Many of us are touched by Alzheimer’s disease and many are
caregivers for those who are affected. Alzheimer’s disease affects more than
five million Americans and is the sixth leading cause of death in the United
States.
That’s why John Knox Village wants you to join our team as
we support those affected and participate in this great Alzheimer’s Association
sponsored event. The Village’s fundraising goal is $2,500. The Walk to End Alzheimer's event will be
held on Sunday, Oct. 2 at Corporate Woods in Overland Park, Kansas.
Registration begins at 8 a.m., a ceremony at 9 a.m. and the Walk begins at 9:30
a.m.There is a one and three mile route.
Here’s a few ways you can get involved!

Join the
Walk team by signing up at www.alz.org. Click on Find A Walk , enter zip code of
64081, select Overland Park, Kansas, click join a team, and search for the John
Knox Village team and then join! You do not have to register to join us on the
day of the event. The Village will be providing transportation. Pick-up will be at 7:15 a.m. at Places Restaurant. Call the Courtyard Commons concierge at 347-2405 to reserve your space.

Stop by
the Bake Sales! They will be held at 9 a.m. each Friday in September at the Village
Care Center employee hallway. Grab some yummy treats and help us meet our goal!

Get Your
T-Shirt! T-shirts can be purchased by cash, check or associate charge. They
can be purchased through Lori Qualls, Village Care Center, 347-3748 or the
Courtyard Commons Concierge at 347-2405. Costs are $10, sizes S – XL; $12 for
2-3 XL. The last day to order shirts is Friday, Sept. 15.
